What Jack had thought would be a fairly uneventful night had turned into something that was definitely memorable. Whether or not it would be something that he bragged about to a friend, or if he and Morrigan would ever amount to anything more than a fling - Jack didn't know, and didn't care at this point. But he knew that he'd be comparing basically every sexual partner he has ever had, and every one he will ever have to one Morrigan Frost. Initially, he had planned to spend his night off wandering through the city, checking things out, seeing if there was anything he could get involved in. Usually, there wasn't much to do, but this time around, he got lucky )in more than one way, if you get my drift).
Jack was one of those guys who brought chivalry back to life. He didn't really do in a sexist kind of way though, he just liked to be a gentlemanly kind of guy - whether he was being polite to another man or woman, it didn't matter. He believed that optimism and kindness were scarce things in a world like the one he lived in, but he did his best to show people that it was possible. He worked for the better good, one step at a time. He was the change that he wanted to see in the world. Morrigan would simply have to deal with it.
While he didn't want to see her walk home alone, he wasn't about to beg her, or demand that he did. It wasn't his place. Jack wasn't stuck in the eighteen hundreds - he wouldn't force her to do what he wanted, he would only ask. If she wanted to take her chances, and maybe there wouldn't be any issues at all, then that was okay with him. He wouldn't be that guy. Jack was chivalrous, sure, but he didn't push his habits where they were not desired.
Limitations were what made the world go around. Some people would only bend so far before they went their own way. Morrigan was a perfect example - she had let him take her to his apartment and fix her up, but now it was her turn to do what she wanted, even against his better judgment that the streets at two am might not be so friendly. He respected the decision though, and only showed slight discontent with a hint of a frown on his face. She would be fine though, he knew. She was a fighter. Rough around the edges, just like he'd been thinking earlier. He liked that sort of thing in a girl. A girl who can take care of herself, but once in a while is capable of letting her guard down.
Jack nodded, moving so that she could leave the lab and then go about her way of leaving his apartment altogether. That shirt looked good on her, he decided, his frown fading into a slight smirk. Tiredly, he ran a hand through his dark hair as his green eyes stayed fixed on her form. "Be careful out there," he said, walking over to the door to see her out to the elevator. "I'll... see you around." Jack went into the hall and pressed the button for the lobby and waited there with her. This was where it'd all end. Maybe they'd see each other again, maybe not.
570, he's all butthurt but tries to keep it cool. whoa three pages.
