She let herself be extricated from the boy’s person, glowing vividly as she kept replaying the instance when the other had decided to hold his ground. It had been exhilarating! Sun-Hi had to try exceptionally hard to keep from pouncing the student, her affections overflowing over their normal levels and it was a wonder she wasn’t trying to smother him at this very moment. She contained herself; years of having to do that very thing had trained her to be a little more in control with her zealous emotions. “Well, I can’t say there isn’t students here who don’t like us Shifters, not matter what Genus they happen to be. But for the most part they don’t get confrontational about it, besides I don’t think he knew you were an Amicus. I think he was just picking on you cause you’re small. At least not until you growled at him.” She giggled chattily.
Inspecting his chosen meal with a wrinkle of her nose, Sun-Hi refrained from saying anything. Hotdogs were far from being deemed nutritionally valuable but Lunus had earned himself a pass with that earlier display so she wisely kept her thoughts and food preferences to herself. “Alrighty, I’ll grab this annnnd these.” Grabbing a mixed fruit cup and two bottles of water, one for each of them, she all but danced off toward the register and joined the short procession of student waiting to pay for their items.
“I’m going to tell Solei all about this~” she grinned dizzily, "She's gonna explode." shaking her head to keep her hair out from her eyes and setting the items in her hand on the small counter and sliding them forward, urging Lunus to do the same while she reached into her pocket and pulled out her student ID. That was all that was required of those who attended the school. The credits were stored on their portfolio which could be accessed through their Identification cards when swiped so a wallet wasn’t even necessary so long as the person had those ever so valuable electronic dollars.

He remembered the sensation, the guttural noise ripping in the back of his throat, ready to tear out. But when he tried to replicate it now, in complete control of himself and nobody to protect he couldn’t, not even a quiet one. “Guess I can’t replicate it then,” he shrugged, “Must be one of those primal things,” He knew this to be true, after reading up on wolves, but the bit what he didn’t want to say, the bit he was half-scared about, was that wolves only got protective over their prey or their pack members.
He didn’t dare mention this to Sun, he didn’t think he could cope with all the gushing and hug’s he’d probably get. The he heard her next comment, the one what made him regret everything which had just happened. “Please don’t,” he begged, “She’d only find out where I live and then obsess over it for maybe a month? Or until I do another stupid thing,” He personally didn’t find it stupid at all, but he had to keep up Sun’s initial impression of him being a shy and meek boy.

words not counting tagged lunus music ridin' solo - jason derulo comments you rock lunus! The gory image that her mind conjured invoked a squeamish look of disapproval – she really did hope the boy was joking with that one comment otherwise she was going to have to break the horrible news that wolves were shot for less than just killing humans. But what sort of life must he live to have drawn such a line in the sand? To threaten another with death, had he endured such harassment that it had come to such automatic negativity? Swallowing thickly she averted her eyes, gaze and features quiet as she wished for the boys protection and that of his canine companion. If anything were to happen to either it would be too tragic.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure your growl is in there somewhere.” She spoke albeit somewhat distantly, thoughts suddenly very far from where they ought to be as her body moved among the line until they were at the register. The woman manning the counter smiled friendly to both and their purchases were processed as deftly as the person who had gone before them. With her laminated ID tucked back into her pants pocket and the food waiting to be taken, she turned back to her company who had just discovered the horrors that was overexcited Solei. If only the boy lived in their dorm and know first hand what could happen…
The thought brightened her considerably, the dusky gloom that had hovered in her thoughts receded and she smiled wickedly, like a woman who would tell him one thing and do the exact opposite as soon as she was out of earshot. She might do just that though omitting the lying part. “See it is the quiet ones who you’ve gotta watch out for.” She smirked before shrugging and offering the most noncommittal of statements. “Maybe. We’ll see what she cooks me for dinner today.” With that she let the boy stew in his tragic revelation that he might have the buxom, green-eyed demon on his case for weeks.
Grabbing her items, letting Lunus handle his hotdogs, she steered them out of the cafeteria where no other opposition was met – though she could feel eyes on her but they were gone just as quickly once they reached the double doors leading to the courtyard. It was a small garden rather than a courtyard; the campus had about three such circular areas. Students came here to do a slew of activities, sleeping and making out being the most frequent and hopefully they’d avoid seeing any of the latter.
“Mmm, it’s nice and warm out today so we’ll eat outside. I hope you don’t mind sitting in the grass.”

He was just so dark most of the time due to the bullying he got at school he thought a lot of people were like that. He shrugged and smiled at Sun, “I’m sorry about that, guess some bullies just get me down,” he shrugged as he picked his plate up and followed after Sun.
He grimaced at the thought of seeing what Solei had cooked for them, not only because he was sure he’d have to be there, but also because he’d referred to Sun as ‘them’ meaning he was included. He shook his head to clear his thought but it just drifted back in and was forced to ask, “We? Is that a subtle way for you to get me to come back to your place?” He asked this with a cheeky smile but he didn’t really feel as cheerful as he appeared. “Seriously though,” he said, “I don’t have to come round do I?”
He couldn’t cope with a dose of Solei that large, especially if she dragged him into her room or something, his head might explode. He carried his plate to the doors and replied to Sun, “I have a wolf pet; they don’t really enjoy lying down on concrete so no, i don’t mind the grass.”

I'm gonna break your heart and get away with murder you should've known from the start
words not counting tagged lunus music ridin' solo - jason derulo comments you rock lunus! His apology flitted through her mind but there was nothing for him to really be apologizing for. She knew all too well the prejudices they faced as Shifters, she had been on the receiving end of more than her fair share of scorn and ridicule because of the elements she had no control over. It was a very local racism with which they lived and despite the advocacy of their status there was still enough hate to make one wary of where the stepped. She could only imagine what such a life must’ve been like, living here on the outside with complete strangers and hardly anyone to confide in. It made Sun-Hi grateful that most of her life had been spent within the labs where she was well taken care of and prepared for the reception she was to receive once unleashed upon society. They probably no longer had such seminars anymore. Or if they did they were fewer and fewer.
A hand reached out, tentatively brushed through the other’s hair in a soothing stroke, perhaps more of an assurance for herself than the teenager. “I know, remember I’m a Shifter too. I’ve been on the receiving end a couple of times, but I can only imagine how badly it could be now.” She mused aloud, fretting visibly but containing more than what was being shown on the surface. She didn’t want to pointlessly worry the boy that his words had stricken her as familiar so she moved to the presented topic of him joining the adults back at their apartment more than willingly. Her smile flashed of mischief, “WE doesn’t just imply me and Taru.” She hummed drolly. “You don’t have to attend the dinner party if you don’t have to, but you’d miss out on my awesome desserts~”
As they found places to sit on the well-manicured lawn, Sun-Hi brightened as she set their bottles of water down within reach and pried open the plastic container of her fruit salad. “It’d be nice to have you by though, you’re always seem so hesitant about stuff like this and I’d feel better knowing you were actually eating well and not skipping meals.” She gave him a pointed look over the rim of her container; deftly unpacking the utensils as she scooped up a piece of cantaloupe and let the crisp sweetness fill her mouth.
Distantly she wondered if Lunus was strictly a carnivore – not that wolves weren’t omnivorous themselves when the need or opportunity presented itself but the staple of their diet was meat after all. “Do you eat fruits Lunus? I never really thought about food preferences for us Amicus since we’re not like the other Genus children. We share very subtle traits and all but I’m curious to know if we share some of the same physiology too.”

It was such an uncommon contact, even in normal society, for someone her age to do that so to Lunus it was like a miracle. He smiled again and then nodded, “I know you’re a shifter too,” he said, “But then again you were a lot older than me when you were released and probably more used to it,” he shrugged, “When I was released it was a completely new thing and I just think it’s normal...” he trailed off and sat down beside Sun when she did.
“Well I’m not going to be rude and say no outright but I’m hesitant...” Lunus said, “I’d like to come, it’d be nice, just Solei would never leave me alone and I’m not sure if i can cope with that,” The most of what he said was true but he did leave something out, something he himself didn’t fully understand yet, but he had the beginnings of a crush on Sun and wanted to spend more time with her.
“And I do eat fruit and vegetables yes,” Lunus said with a nod, “Quite often actually, but eating meat is easier as I can share it with Streak and also he can share his hunt with me,” he started to explain, “We’re like a pack, just a very small one, we share everything. And I prefer my meat raw, yes.” He added the last bit on the end because he didn’t specify that he cooked the kills.

I'm gonna break your heart and get away with murder you should've known from the start
words not counting tagged lunus music ridin' solo - jason derulo comments you rock lunus! She couldn’t argue that. It was probably that as one of the first generation Amicus she had been released at an earlier date, something of a test trial to see how she could function in society and whether or not same could be done with those of like her. She had been the recipient of countless trials, tests and exams to ensure that her ability to adapt into the new environment did not cause her more undue stress than she could handle and in lieu of those much needed events she hadn’t faired too badly all things considered. It was the later generations that found themselves in situations where they were taxed daily, inadequate preparation due to the governments forced release date.
“I can understand you being hesitant, after all Solei is a handful when she’s not exhausted from work.” The distant, clearly reminiscing tone belied her experience in the matter. Days where Solei (and herself since she was partly to blame) had little extravaganza’s in their apartment and didn’t go to bed until well after dawn. But in this instance she wondered if the older woman could restrain herself and commit to some semblance of sanity in order for Lunus for feel comfortable in their home. It really would be nice to have the other Amicus around, he as a pleasure to have near and anything she could do to watch out for him was just as gratifying. “I’ll tell you what, I’ll tell Solei not to smother you and you can come over for dinner whenever you feel like it.” It sounded like a reasonable enough compromise, if not one that Sun-Hi had little idea how to make happen. Stopping Solei was probably like trying to stop a typhoon with a sponge.
The woman listened intently, eyes glittering as she absorbed the information before she scrunched her nose at the notion of consuming a raw kill. And just where did Lunus take Streak to hunt? And what exactly could they be hunting here in the city limits? “Lunus, that’s dangerous. It’s alright for a wolf but I don’t think we have the same constitution as our animals. If the meat you’re eating raw has parasites you could get very sick.” She prayed that whatever they were hunting didn’t have rabies for all they knew.

Just because he didn’t eat a lot didn’t mean he wasn’t a greedy eater. He looked at what remained of the meat and smiled, “There is no problem with diseases.” He began to explain, “I’ve been eating raw since I was a maybe four? And I’ve become immune or at least very resistant to most diseases,” he shrugged like it was no big deal but when he was a kid he threw up violently after almost every meal.
He watched the student here sitting on the grass, their head in books, and wondered how many of them were shifters. Sun had said that the school accommodated them but it was still a mystery about how many were here, and he was sure Sun wouldn’t know exact figures. He looked at Sun and smiled, “But if I’m going to come round I’ll probably need an address, I won’t know how to find you otherwise.”
“And also, don’t tell Solei, she’ll probably make some extravagant meal which will be full of delicious food and I don’t want her to make a fuss.” He shrugged and then finished off his first hot dog.

words not counting tagged lunus music ridin' solo - jason derulo comments you rock lunus! She couldn’t help but giggling around her plastic fork, though Lunus was a bit of a reticent boy he was terribly astute. He’d worked out that letting Solei know of dinner arrangements ahead of time would result in some sort of banquet or its equivalent at least. She couldn’t imagine the redhead completing such a banquet on her own however. Oh no, she’d drag Sun-Hi into making a mess and then the twenty minute scramble between setting the table and cleaning the disaster that had occurred in their kitchen. Simply imagining such an event made the woman smile weakly, she had no desire to be on dish duty that night so she’d have to take Lunus’ advice on this one.
“You’re right; I won’t let her know about it. It’ll be a surprise since I’m not looking forward to cleaning up after her buffet.” She grinned absently, her thoughts completely on the woman who would make a party out of a small sit in. Not that it wouldn’t be loads of fun but seeing as Lunus was just now breaking out of his comfort zone it was better not to expose him to how freakish the pair could get when in proximity to each other.
“Oh our apartment, it’s in the second district in room 212. Feel free to swing by whenever you’re ready and if neither of us is up to cooking we’ll take you out.” She offered. "Oh and the invitation is also extended to Streak, he'll be the life of the party right next to Solei."

Looking at my own reflection [atrb=width,80%][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=background,http://i54.tinypic.com/14ux4io.jpg,true] Lunus nodded slightly. He knew that both Sun and Solei were accommodating to his other half so he had assumed Streak wasn’t going to be turned away like he was vermin in the streets. He took another, slower, bite out of the other hotdog and then thought, why would Sun be the one cleaning? “Don’t you share the jobs or anything?” he asked. In his foster home they all had set chores to do on set days, but he usually ended up doing them all. He didn’t mind as it gave him a few minutes alone and sometimes the kids even paid for him to do their jobs.
He then thought about the proximity Streak would get to food whilst they were there. That definitely wasn’t a good thing unless they only wanted a few morsels each. Lunus would probably get the biggest morsel and the other two barely any so he decided, at least for the time being, to leave Streak to hunt for his own food. He didn’t mention this to Sun as she’d probably reprimand him and he’d be forced to bring the wolf. “And I won’t be showing up unannounced either. I’ll probably text you so I’ll know you’re in and also you’ll know I’m coming.” He knew how touchy people got when their house was a mess so he’d give them some degree of time to get ready and straighten a few things out.
He took another small bite and then laughed slightly, picturing the surprise on Solei’s face when he showed up unannounced at their apartment. He figured it’d probably be a mixture of happiness, confusion and her being a little self conscious.
