If you're looking for some information, you've come to the right place. This guidebook is everything that makes up this site. Enclosed are site rules, which should be followed at all times, and a general site guide that will help you understand what this site's all about. Read carefully! ACCOUNT INFORMATION GRAND ILLUSION is a one-character-per-account roleplay site! This is to make sorting out the member groups easier, and believe it or not, it actually makes things a whole lot more organized in the end. account names: When joining, it is preferred that you register your account with something reflecting that of your character, like their first or last name. After creating an account, all profiles must then set their accounts to first middle last format. avatars: The max width of an avatar for your mini-profile is 110px, and the max height is 300 px. Do not go any larger than this or you will be destroyed. Painfully. The same concept applies to signatures: max 500px by 250 px. OUT OF CHARACTER RULES golden rule: Treat others the way you would like to be treated! Don't go out of your way to put someone down; not only is that a very mean and nasty thing to do, but it'll make you very unpopular. Be nice and civil and friendly, and there shouldn't be any trouble. site rating: PG-16. While nothing graphic is allowed on the site, there will still be violence and language unsuitable for younger viewers. Join at your own discretion! accounts: GI is a one-character-per-account roleplay. To view more information on accounts, please scroll back up! images: No gigantic images that stretch the boards, please. They are very annoying and only serve to interfere with the layout of the forum. A simple solution to too-big pictures is a link that leads to the image, or a cropped image that, when clicked, will link to the full-sized picture. personal space: Those who bother staff members about accepting their bios or asking to be members of staff themselves get leg-whipped across the face. The staff have lives too, and can't spend their whole day bowing to your every whim. We'll get to your needs; just be patient. coding: While we're on the subject of personal space: coding. Grand Illusion took a long while to pull together and there are a lot of codes that make it work. These things can be found if you actually look for them, so please don't beg for certain codes. The staff are here to run this site, not do all the coding for yours. final rule: Hey. You're here to meet new people and try new things. Have fun <3 IN CHARACTER RULES are you accepted?: If you have made a character who has been accepted, then go crazy! Post wherever and whenever you want. However, if your character has not yet been accepted by a staff member, then do not roleplay with them. Have patience, grasshopper. play fair: Don't try to control other members' characters (godmodding), and don't make your character an invincible god (powerplaying). No one likes a party pooper, so stay realistic and let other members control their own players. word count: Word count minimums suck. Make your posts as long or as short as you want, so long as proper English is used, and the people you're posting with have enough to work off of. liquid time: Liquid time, or your character being in more than one place at one time, is allowed on this site, so long as you can keep up with all of your different threads. language: Swearing in character is allowed, but should be used sparingly. We don’t want to see the f-bomb being dropped in every other sentence of your post. pregnancies: Sex is not to be roleplayed out under any circumstance. It may be implied (ie: fade to black), but nothing can be played out. All pregnancies must be run by the staff, and be sure to read about the genetics of the species. Hybrids are not allowed under any conditions at this point in time. posting tables: Yes, GI has the UBBC tags available that make posting tables possible. These tables are by no means necessary, but if you choose to have one, their max width should be 500px. Anything longer will stretch the board, and you will probably be bitched at. If you're not interested in a posting table, please write in a font color that does not make the reader's eyes bleed. |
