At first glance most people usually think of the cerulean topped girl as yet another fragile female and therefore don't really expect her slim physique to be that of a competitive athlete. While it is rather difficult to imagine that her body harbors steel abs or bulky muscles in general, it is nevertheless well-trained and highly agile. Spending quite some time outside, due to the weekly track and field training sessions, the girl's body got a healthy complexion. Maki's probably most flamboyant feature is her smooth, teal colored hair, which trails like a mesmerizingly turquoise river that runs down her back until it stops at her knees, while her bangs curtain over her brows. Her sparkling azure orbs reflect the shifter's kind and passionate soul, apparently unimpaired from the hardship she had to endure. When not wearing either her plain school uniform or the flamboyantly yellow trikot of the track and field team, Maki usually wears whatever she wants. The young female doesn't really care about the latest fashion trends and instead prefers clothes that make her feel comfortable. Loose-fitting, bright and short-sleeved shirts that cover her torso, while allowing her to move around freely, are especially popular with the teen, since they further amplify her extroverted, cheerful and carefree appearance. Being proud of her well-shaped, athletic legs the teal topped teen tends to wear short skirts and shorts during the warmer seasons while she immediatelly starts to hide her figure beneath thick layers of clothes as soon as the temperatures drop. Even though being friendly and appearing extroverted due to the bright and comfortable smile decorating her face, Maki usually prevents those around her from seeing noticing the creature living behind the facades. Having been forced to spend her childhood in a small cage and bear degrading experiments, one would understand if the female had come to hate all those that tortured her merely because she was different, or at least isolate herself from them. But even though her past has left deep scars on the innocent girl's heart and soul, she developed quite differently, since she doesn't hold a grudge against mankind. Detesting violence and racism, she strongly believes that humans and shifters can actually coexist in peace, since the two races share more similarities than differences. Aware that the time for the both species to walk hand in hand hasn't come yet and afraid of falling victim to racists and other misguided individuals, Maki does everything to hide the fact that she is more than you average student. Even though loving to freely soar through the pure sky, Maki hardly ever uses her shifting abilities, afraid of being found out by those incapable of accepting shifters. Trying to be as normal as possible, the girl spends most of her free time hanging out with friends, training for the university's atheltic team and trying to earn some money as songstress in different clubs. The girl's gravest problem is neither her "everyone should try to understand one another"- attitude nor her claustrophobia. It is the fact that she would love to truly connect to others, while being afraid her secret could be revealed in the process. This inner conflict constantly isolates Maki from others and makes it increasingly difficult for her to keep her carefree facade upright. CHRONOLOGICAL TIMELINE CURRENT RESIDENCE; A room within a dorm CURRENT OCCUPATION; Student // Jobbing as songstress in different bars HISTORY; Isolated, cramped and treated like someone's property; that perfectly describes Maki's past. The young shifter was born into captivity and was separated from her mother before she was even able to memorize her face. From then on there was only narrowness, lonelyness and weird people dressed in white. Being held within a small "cage" most of the time, Maki at one point started singing in order to break the veil of silence that had engulfed her and make it through what seemed to have no end. After six years she then experienced liberty for the first time as SHIFT corporation released all their experiments. At first the young girl wasn't able to fully comprehend her new life and the outside world and would most likely have died if some kind woman hadn't taken her in after encountering the neglected child. At this moment in time news concerning the release of the SHIFT corparation's experiments filled the programs on tv. The asian female quickly noticed that this kid was everything but your everyday's child and decided to take her in. Naming, teaching and educating the confused and distressed child, she became her adoptive mother. Being greatly concerned with her new daughter's well-being, she forbade her to shift, fearing that the innocent child might get into serious trouble. Years passed and Maki grew up to be a charming teenager, trying to live a life as normal as possible. The constant tensions between the shifters and those that weren't able to accept them as humans and part of society, caused the female to feel uneasy and she at some point came to dislike herself for being different. She wanted to be loved, to be accepted, to be human. Growing older and gaining experience in life the teal topped girl finally came to accept herself, while still wishing to lead a life as normal as possible. The sky accepted and welcomed her, but as much as she enjoeyed soaring through the eternal blue she always felt out of place. She only had eyes for the world of humans, dreaming to lead a peaceful and happy life. In order to achieve this goal, she worked hard and entered university.
