FULL NAME; Luella Marie Bates ALIAS; Ella, Bumblebee. She is most commonly known as and referred to as Bumblebee. AGE; Twenty, although she looks much younger. GENDER; Female ORIENTATION; Asexual by choice, naturally heterosexual CLASS; Solidus SHIFT SPECIES; Bumblebee Poison Frog wiki BIRTH DATE; July 8th, 2039 GENETICS EYES; Blue HAIR; Blonde WEIGHT; 115 lbs. HEIGHT; 5’2” VOICE; Kate Higgins, C.C.: the green-haired girl in the beginning FACE CLAIM; Kamitsure from Pokemon DESCRIPTION; When people first meet Ella, they think that she’s about fifteen years old due to her height, small frame, and young-looking face. And the second think they think, if they are a decent person, is put on some clothes, girl! Ella doesn’t like clothes, but she wears them because they are the law and nakedness tends to make people uncomfortable. Or it gains the wrong sort of attention. But Ella just doesn’t feel right in clothes, whether they’re baggy or tight, and she’s always scratching at herself because she’s incredibly uncomfortable. Ella has cropped blonde hair that falls around her ears. If it wasn’t for the way she dressed, most people would probably assume that she was a boy due to her hair style. She keeps her hair short because she finds long hair a hassle. She has blue eyes, and an olive complexion. She never wears make up. An odd feature about Ella is that her skin is closer in texture and function to that of a frog’s and not a human’s. It is unusually smooth, moist to the touch, and it helps her breathe and retain her body temperature. This is the reason behind her revealing way of dressing. PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION LIKES; candy and desserts, hot and humid temperatures, baths, little kids, order and reason, not having to hurt someone, and the corporation. DISLIKES; Clothes (if she could run around naked she would), needless emotional attachments (i.e., romance), taking showers, being called Lu or Luella, the feeling of her throat making noise when she’s in her frog form, people taking away her sweets, when people force her to get physical on them, the outside world, the cold, and God help you if you even try to take a bite of her sweets. STRENGTHS; Ella’s strengths are closely related to her animal, the bumblebee poison dart frog. She has a strong pair of legs that allow her to jump farther and higher than the average human, and they also provide her with powerful kicking power. Her second feature is her immunity to poison, even in lethal doses. And finally her third feature is her poison spit, which she can spit for a long distance and poisons upon contact. Her spit is not usually poisonous, however: she has two sets of glands, one that is normally activated and her poison gland that she has been trained to manipulate since she was a little girl. WEAKNESSES; One of Ella’s biggest weaknesses is that she needs to stay moist or else she’s going to get sick and ‘dry up’, which would essentially weaken her. This is why she takes many baths a day and Shift keeps her room at a very humid temperature. Another weakness of Ella’s is sweets. She is addicted to sweets, much like a smoker is addicted to nicotine. If she goes even a day without it she is grumpy and off her game. She won’t be able to function properly. Also, while she’s usually a stickler for order, if her candy gets taken away she will throw reason out the window and won’t be thinking clearly. Lastly, Ella does not have a lot of upper body strength. Her strength is all in her legs. QUIRKS; always eating candy or a dessert, takes at least two baths a day, only offers candy to kids, never gives her candy to anyone but little kids and if you ask her for her candy or a bite of her dessert you can practically see her thinking about the repercussions she’d get if she spat her poison in your eyes, and wears as little clothes as possible and even then seems really uncomfortable in them. FEARS; The only things that Ella fears are failure and emotional attachment. She doesn’t want to seem useless to the corporation, so she works her ass off so that she doesn’t disappoint her superiors. As for her fear of emotional attachment, Ella is afraid that’ll end up caring too much for someone and then they’ll directly or indirectly hurt her. She’s also scared that if she gets romantically involved with someone that she’ll accidentally poison and kill them. GOALS; Ella’s major goal in life is to try her best not to harm anyone that doesn’t need to be harmed. PERSONALITY;
CHRONOLOGICAL TIMELINE CURRENT RESIDENCE; She lives on Shift grounds. The room was designed with a tank for her to bathe and swim in, and the room is kept at a temperature of seventy five degrees Fahrenheit. There are also sprayers and humidifiers that keep the room ideal so that Ella is in her top form. OCCUPATION; Shift Corps Guard HISTORY; Once upon a time a SHIFT scientist by the name of Marie Santos was put in charge of the development of genus children that could be sold as soldiers. These shifters were different from other projects because they would be born with the natural deadly abilities of the creatures they were developed from. Ella was one of the first to be born of this project, but she also ended up being the least hostile in natural temperament. However, she was obedient, and that made her a favorite of Dr. Santos. Ella became greatly attached to her creator, Marie, and saw her as her ‘mother’. Ella would follow Marie around like a shadow, and Marie in return was growing fond of the little girl. It was Marie who gave Ella the nickname ‘Bumblebee’. Whenever Ella excelled at her tests, she was rewarded by Marie with candy. Like any child, Ella loved candy and anything sweet, so she always strived to outdo the other experiments so that she can get candy at the end of the day. And she didn’t just do well because she wanted candy. She did well because she wanted Marie to be the one to give her candy. When Ella was five years old there was an accident at the lab. Marie was working on cells for another poisonous dart frog shifter. Marie was trying to make a male companion for Ella, as well as create another poisonous shifter just as powerful. However, she was careless and got poisoned while handling the frogs. Her death severely took a toll on Ella, who at the time didn’t even know what death was. All she knew was that Marie wasn’t going to come back and give her candy any more. Marie’s death didn’t directly convince Ella to close off having emotional attachment to other people, but it was indeed the catalyst for her current outlook on interpersonal relationships. After SHIFT Corp was forced to release their experiments, Ella (then seven) had a meltdown. Unlike many of her fellow experiments, she was fearful of the outside world. After all, SHIFT was all she knew and it was her home. She couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. When a lawyer came to take her away to her designated foster family, she jumped into the arms of a random SHIFT employee and latched onto him, bawling like a baby and begging not to let them take her. Since this was a particularly unusual case, as most of the shifters seemed either happy or at least accepting about their new life, Ella was given a lawyer to fight for her. SHIFT wanted to keep her, after all, and Ella wanted to stay. However, there wasn’t much of a case to argue: once the court learned that Ella could accidentally kill someone with her spit they immediately ruled for SHIFT to be able to keep her. However, the court assigned her a social worker to come and visit her once a month to make sure she was being treated as a human and not as an experiment. When she turned eighteen, the social worker was taken off her case. Some might call Ella a leashed dog, but she calls herself safe. Unlike many other shifters, she has a home where she is appreciated and accepted. And as a guard for SHIFT, she protects the safety of other experiments like her and even helps in convincing them that SHIFT is the best place for them. And a fun fact: since Ella was going to be kept by SHIFT, she was allowed to create her own name. She took her first and last name, Luella Bates, from the scientific name of the poisonous frog that she was created from (Dendrobates Leucomelas). Her middle name, Marie, was taken from the scientist that created her. When she was thirteen she loved the name Luella, but now that she’s older she prefers to be called Ella or Bumblebee. Bumblebee is her favorite because that is who she has always been, and that is the name Marie gave her. |
