I'm gonna break your heart and get away with murder you should've known from the start
words 318 tagged open music FF13 this is home comments derpy birdy Half an hour of cardio that had turned out to be mostly warm ups for the hazards to come. The quick, muscle-loosening exercises had swiftly led into another half hour of rigorous course of palates that had left her unreasonably sore – though it was her own fault for skipping a week of workout so she kept herself from voicing her misery. She’d all but limped out of class because one particular stretch had put her hip in a very awkward, and what should have been an unachievable, position. Onwards to an hour of cycling, pedaling on the bicycle bolted to the floor and pumping her legs to achieve the desired speed for the meter to clock, Sun-Hi was determined to punish herself for her lax attitude and she was feeling the burn for sure.
The university student was flushed, round cheeks with their splotches of color as she took measured breaths that did not immediately betray her growing fatigue. She wasn’t winded yet but her abdominal muscles were taut, almost as though they were trying to compress her stomach to a size it was not fit to hold. She was guessing it was because of the set of crunches she’d wormed into her cardio before the class had begun and she regretted them considering her sore body was going to get back at her tomorrow by making her stiff as a board and feeling like she needed a skin graph for the tightness that was sure to follow.
The whir of the bike gears reached her distantly, shockwaves of the vibrations shooting up her calves as she tried to concentrate on the television monitor that was hanging from the wall in front of her. She’d always found it interesting how watching television usually made people lazy and yet here it was mounted on a wall while she was supposed to be burning calories. It was sort of ironic.

The man had entered the gym about half an hour earlier, and was currently taking his warm down right now. The treadmill beneath him was at a nice, even pace, although it would have seemed fast to anyone not accustomed to working out everyday. Although Mihael would have enjoyed it a bit better if he were outside working out, today he decided that a change of scenery would do him good; this atmosphere made him want to run, to do some sort of physical activity. He had done a good workout, not lifting but merely working on his core muscles and strength training, running for ten minutes in the beginning and now fifteen at the end. School had him tired out. Today had been a lab day, and some of the students had thought it funny to throw preserved rats around the room in a disgusting version of hot potato- whoever had the rat when he walked in lost. The man had to deal with referrals and all in all, he just wanted the day to be over. This helped to clear his mind for the night and tomorrow morning, physical activity preoccupying him and driving him further.
Shutting the treadmill off, Mihael stepped off of it, body not drenched but a bit sweaty. a good shower was what he needed. Unlike his younger sibling, the man didn't mind public showers, and planned on utilizing that to the best of his ability. On a teacher's salary, he didn't need such a high water bill. Mihael stretched out as he walked across the main room, his eyes spotting a younger looking girl - was she about Vi's age? - and felt his lips curling into a gentle smile. She had a charming, endearing sort of look about her, and he felt the profound urge to just talk to her. It had been a while since he'd gotten out, been with friends, so why she he pass on the opportunity to make one? Miheal made up his mind to approach her, despite the fact that she was still working out. It would give her something to do, besides just focus on the physical aspect of her activity (that was what Mihael did, but whatever- he didn't feel like justifying himself).
"You look like you hit your limit. Why don't you take a short break?" he asked her. He did pick up on the little strains in her facial muscles, the way people's brows usually furrowed when trying to control their breathing. Mihael, in general, was a charming, easy going sort of guy. His lips were curved into a small grin, light brown eyes easy and sparkling with a little bit of amusement. Well, he couldn't try something without a risk, and he just sincerely hoped not to be immediately shot down. After all, company was company, and he hadn't really had a good conversation with anyone outside of his occupation.

I'm gonna break your heart and get away with murder you should've known from the start
words 491 tagged Michael music a perfect circle comments <3 Torture session, that was all this was. She’d gone beyond the calls of a redemption workout and crossed into the murky waters of personal torment. Her calf muscles were whistling Dixie at this point and it was a wonder how she could force them to keep the pace and rhythm she’d set. But she deserved it! All those innocuously wrapped chocolates she’d eaten! They gave her an instant of happiness and a lifetime of misery for what they could do to her figure. This was due payment for having neglected her normal physical routine in lieu of both work and school assignments. She was paying the piper and at the end of the day he was going to be rich and she’d be feeling sore but a bit lighter then her dainty one hundred and twenty six pounds.
‘At this rate I’ll be light enough to fly… she mused inwardly, not noticing the man approaching her and badly startled when spoken to. Before the primary fright of being approached unexpectedly Sun-Hi had to deal with the swiftly ensuing second that would consume more attention then the taller man beside her. Her foot slipped off the pedal, destroying the rhythm and the bike was still churning out that speed, unfazed by the lack of legwork. The quick moving pedals smacked the dislodged foot and the bicyclist hissed sharply as the shot of pain tore up her leg, the exposed skin raked by the cleats on the pedal.
She’d deal with the stranger later, that hadn’t been the smartest of moves on his part or hers for that matter – though he’d get out of it unscathed. Wincing, Sun-Hi raised her legs around the front of the bike, the instructors always urged them to do so whenever they lost their footing to prevent injury – or more than what had been caused. People rarely took into account just how dangerous working out to stay fit could be until a little mistake turned into a massive mishap. This wasn’t bad but it certainly wasn’t good from the angry welts on her leg, evidence that it could have been worse and that she’d gotten off easy.
“It’s not a good idea to talk to people when they’re on a bicycle.” She grimaced, reprimanding the man who should be feeling very guilty for causing her to almost lose her ankle. Really! But she wasn’t bleeding and she doubted there would be a sprain, it might bruise and be tender for a bit and nothing an ace bandage wouldn’t cover up and some jeans, but it was still a life lesson on not approaching people out of the blue. It’s like distracting a person operating a crane – very dangerous.
The dismount was anything but graceful but she wasn’t trying to impress anybody with being macho and saying it didn’t hurt. Cause it did. The skin wasn’t torn but it didn’t hurt any less. “Guess I’m taking that break.” She murmured before looking up, and up, and - damn how tall was he!? Sun-Hi knew she was small but...
Craning her neck back to meet his gaze the girl tried not to stare. It wasn't like she didn't see tall people all over the place but sometimes she really felt like a dwarf among them. "Alright big guy help me patch up," she insisted.

Her little mishap happened faster that he could believe, the man almost instantly reaching for her, before his hand went back to his side. Well, Mihael had learned his lesson. The man was already worried about offending her, and here he had caused an accident that could have been far worse. Poor thing. He wanted to help her off the bike, but Mihael suddenly felt very clumsy, as though he could seriously hurt her delicate frame by assisting her. "I'm so sorry. I didn't realize, I've never used them." His voice came out smooth and gentle, although the concern definitely shone through. How was he to know? Then again, maybe he should have broadened his horizons and attempted something new today. The accident could have been avoided, yes, but it was too late to do so now. As she got herself off of the machine that Mihael held in new eyes - he was now convinced that he'd never use them - the teacher made sure that she could stand. Although he didn't want to startle the woman, he couldn't bear to see her hurt again because of him, even if an innocent greeting had turned into this. Just great.
Mihael nodded at her words, his eyes searching hers. He saw something there - was it dealing with his height? Jesus! People never seemed to understand that it wasn't like he chose this. Big guy? Now that was interesting. She seemed more assertive that he had originally thought. "Of course. Please forgive me, I'd love to help fix what I caused. You can walk?" The civilian didn't want to make her do so if she couldn't. What an idiot he was. Honestly, how he managed a classroom full of students for a day was a miracle unto himself. His smile was sincere and apologetic, again taking in her physical appearance. She was pretty, yes, but young, which he didn't mind. Her overall appearance was sweet and seemingly charming- when he wasn't being ordered around to repair her.

I'm gonna break your heart and get away with murder you should've known from the start
words 491 tagged Michael music a perfect circle comments <3 She could admit to the girly, squealing part of her that got all excited to see the man beside himself, cutely anxious over her. What! A girl liked to be treated like she was a million dollar sculpture every once and a while. Just not all the time cause it got annoying but there were times, like this one for instance, where being fretted over was a good thing. Smiling amusedly she spoke, “It’s alright, most guys don’t cycle and I think I’m intact.” More for the benefit of the stranger’s distress than hers. The woman leaned against the bike seat, facing him, and tested her weight on the leg whose throb remained steady but was gradually tapering off. It was a good sign; there wouldn’t be any nasty, deep tissue damage – albeit she doubted getting nicked by a bike pedal could cause such. “Yeah we’re alright, it’ll probably just need some ice or something.” She continued.
The injury really wasn’t as bad as it looked. Despite the red groves left behind by the cleats and some mild discoloration, there wasn’t much to be concerned over. Her real issue would begin the next morning, when all her muscles were sore and achy from today’s workout. “It’s a boo-boo, tops.” She murmured dryly, tone convincingly undeterred by the small mishap of the man’s good intentions. Though she doubted he would be approaching anyone on a bicycle in the fitness center any time in the near future. The whole once bitten, twice shy, phenomenon.
Assertive? Her? Whatever gave him that idea? Sun-Hi’s smile only brightened both from watching the flicker of what she guessed was mild surprise and listening to his profuse apologizing. He was definitely more worked up over this than she was. He hadn’t crippled her and there hadn’t been bloodshed, they should both be counting their blessings and taking that aforementioned break instead of getting anymore keyed up then they (really just him) were. Tall, dark and nameless was probably going to be feeling that guilt for a while. “Mhmm, walking is fine.” She affirmed as she shuffled her weight around just to prove she wasn’t going to collapse on him. Some ice, a bandage and a sip of water was all she needed. “If you just grab my bag for me please, Oh! And watch out for the sparrow in there, she’s probably hiding in the towel.” She asked warmly.
“And stop with the face,” she urged, “you’ll look cuter if you smile.” With that bit of teasing left for him to mull over, she extended a hand out to him, holding in giggles. “Sun-Hi Moon, or Sun-Sun.”

The man was indeed anxious over the little woman, her petite frame obviously used to a good workout. However, he couldn’t help but notice a small glint of something mischievous in her eyes- was the woman amused with this situation? What a trooper. ”Okay, good. You made me nervous,” Mihael admitted to her, smiling gently. Wow. She was indeed a trooper, a good soldier that had seen duty before. Mihael should have known about these sorts of injuries, but his classes every year never seemed to make it to muscles and that chapter in the book. He preferred to go on about animals, genetics, Darwinism and reproduction. Perhaps he should make it a point to get to that chapter this year, switch up his coursework for the hell of it. The man grinned now, her slight teasing putting him at ease. Banter? Oh, he could match her easily, probably even win.
"Alright.. a bird?” the man asked, bending over to retrieve what the lady had requested. It was only fair of him to assist her, after all. Not just for the fact that she had been injured on his account, but because she was a woman. Everyone deserved to be treated with care and dignity. Thank his parents for pounding that lesson into his head, over and over again. Well, they were right, actually. Adopting an experiment taught his that quicker than anything they ever said could. As Mihael lifted the bag, he opened it a little bit, allowing the avian to get out if it so wished. Now, that was odd; however, it did have a familiar pang about it. Who did he know that would take her pet anywhere with her? Ah yes, little sister. Perhaps this woman was also an amicus; Mihael kept that thought in the back of his mind, not wanting to be rude to her.
Cuter? Now she was just teasing him, although Mihael rounded on her with a classic grin, amused by her act of complimenting him, a bit more relaxed now. ”You’re way too sweet looking to tease me like that,” the teacher scoffed, pretending to be the one who was offended. He shook her hand, his larger one grasping hers – she was so soft! He shook hers, smiling at her name. ”My name is Mihael Durham, you look familiar.. Did you attend Silver Springs School?” Maybe.. she looked young enough that she could have been a senior or something when he first began teaching there, but not so familiar that Mihael would have remembered her name or anything else about the woman. ”Come on, let’s get you patched up,” he encouraged, heading over to one of the benches that lined the walls, setting the bag down next to her when she sat. He disappeared only for a few moments, returned with an ice pack and a nice Ace bandage. Well, he did learn some things; it was just a vast majority that he couldn’t remember. It was slowly coming back to him, the college Biology class, and the Anatomy course he had taken with it. He sat in front of her, plopping down on the ground, his brown eyes lifting to meet here, as though Mihael was asking for permission. One hand holding the ice pack, he applied it to the injured area of her leg, humming softly. This wasn’t so bad; she was sweet, pretty, and had seemingly forgiven him.

I'm gonna break your heart and get away with murder you should've known from the start
words 658 tagged Michael music figurehead comments take me I'm yours XD She couldn’t keep her giggles from escaping her; the guy must not be used to accidents if he was getting so worked up over a little thing that was barely even worth being considered a scratch. Seeing him relax marginally smoothed the lines of his profile and Sun-Hi could feel her cheeks flare with color – thankfully she was flushed enough already for it to be hardly noticeable. The guy was striking, in features rather than simply his vertical achievement. A slanted but not too angular face stylishly tousled hair. It wasn’t everyday good-looking men approached her. Alright, total lie considering she worked in a café, plenty of handsome men trotted there, they just weren’t there for her.
“Mhmm, Taru. She’ll tear up the house if I leave her home and putting her in a cage just seemed cruel.” This said absentmindedly, hands busy fiddling with the hair-tie, tightening the ponytail and ensuring it wouldn’t droop any further than it had from all her bouncing around. Adjusting complete, Sun-Hi glanced over her shoulder to see that he had unzipped the main compartment of her tote and when she didn’t immediately see the clay-colored sparrow shooting for freedom she assumed the bird was still sleeping or sensed something different and didn’t want anything to do with it. “I think she’s being shy.” She shrugged aloofly, not obviously worried until a second or two later where she stopped in her tracks and frowned.
“Unless she got out into the locker room…” this mostly to herself as she doubled back to peek into the bag Michael was so graciously carrying for her. Gently shifting the fabric of her towel she found her worries weren’t necessary, Taru was indeed there and sleeping and did not appreciate the sudden light spilling over her. Sun-Hi returned the contents to how they’d been and confirmed Michael’s unvoiced suspicions without prompting, “I’m an Amicus, case you’re wondering.” Most people were bold enough to ask, others were polite enough to wait to be told or to never find out. Either suited her fine but she’d never really had a problem sharing considering it wasn’t always easy to hide a bird on your person without people asking questions. And besides, why should she hide it? The two of them combined were cute enough to dispel most fears about Amicus and other genus children.
At Michael’s mock reprimand Sun-Hi only smiled, basking. “I know, enchanting aren’t I?” she grinned impishly as he took her hand in his and gave her a question that she had to think on. “It’s nice to meet you Michael and I did go there, about three or four years ago. Why? Do you or did you attend or something? You weren’t in my class and got an extreme makeover did you?” The last came out in wary but playfully cynical notes. She figured he couldn’t be much older than her, maybe younger if his genetics were anything like a lot of the kids she used to known and hang around with.
To the benches they went and while Michael disappeared, Sun-Hi let herself gush in the pseudo-privacy she’d been given. He was so cute! Okay, to do the man justice cute shouldn’t be used – Lunus was cute and Michael didn’t fit in the ‘cute’ bin. Handsome fit well enough and he had a charmingly amiable presence to him that made her beam inwardly and try to hide how livened she was when the source returned. Gratefully accepting the bandages and ice pack she was hesitant, though didn’t say so, when he sat in front of her and waited patiently for her to nod before he applied the ice pack. The instant cold on her heated skin, not helped by the man’s roughened pads on her leg, drew shivers from her and feeling awkward in the situation Sun-Hi chose to fill it. “You’re trying to win my heart, Mister Michael and its working~” she hummed amusedly. "What's that song you're humming?"

He did indeed wonder how Sun was taking this. The woman was beautiful, pleasant and kind. Her conversation was enjoyable, very sweet. Mihael couldn't help but grin, pleased to have gotten her attention, despite the little boo-boo that the beauty had acquired in the process. It was unexpected of her to just come out and tell him her species, confirming his suspicions. Mihael had learned much from his sister, also an amicus; they were funny sometimes and liked things concerning their counterparts a certain way. "I figured as much. My sister's an amicus." Deciding to disclose that bit of information to her, the teacher had thought, Why not?. The woman would understand. Besides, it could endear him to Sun Sun, which was all the better. She didn't deserve all of the harshness of the world, what her birth and pre-birth had earned her for the rest of her life. It was unfair, but it had still happened- thus, the genus children had to make the most of it. "You just look familiar. I teach there, so maybe I saw you in the halls a few times or something.. I dunno."
"Michael? No, I'm sorry. I said it too fast. It's Mee-hai-l," he corrected her gently. When he said his name fast, especially when he was nervous, it was easy to mistake it for Michael- after all, it only lacked the 'c'. He grinned up at her, thumb rubbing gentle circles. Her next few words earned a very soft laugh from him, enjoying the fact that the sweetheart had picked up on the flirts and compliments he had been gently wafting her way. "I'm glad that my efforts aren't futile, Sun Sun," the man admitted, her eyes making contact with hers. There was a physical chemistry, yes- her darling face and endearing figure that took his breath away - but also her personality. Sun Hi Moon wasn't mean, wasn't assertive or too shy. "Oh, it was Chariots of Fire. The original, my mother used to play the piano a while back. It just stuck with me for some reason." Mihael shrugged softly, keeping the ice pack where the woman's injury was. He had to admit, there was a little over reaction on his part, but he just felt bad about it.
The teacher slowly removed the ice pack, taking a peek at her battle wounds. They looked okay, red but otherwise fine. Perhaps now would be a good time for the bandage. Her skin was heavenly smooth, and although he didn't want to be rude, it was impossible not to admire the cream colored, silk feeling skin. What a woman, indeed. She was such a doll, a sweetheart, no wonder why he was attracted to her in the first place. "I'm going to put the Ace bandage on.. you wouldn't mind, sparrow?" Mihael asked Sun, a playful tone to his voice, lips curving upward into a small teasing smile, as if daring her to say that she didn't want him touching her.

I'm gonna break your heart and get away with murder you should've known from the start
words 658 tagged Michael music figurehead comments >///< That shred of freely distributed not to mention highly personal, information drew a soft gasp of surprise – or was it glee at a connection? It would explain his almost lack of surprise when she’d mentioned the bird in her gym bag and why he hadn’t been more forthright and asked about why it was in there to begin with. This also prompted her next question, intrigue flashing in her doe-eyed woman’s face as she leaned forward unconsciously. “Really? Hehe, that explains the lack of reaction when I mentioned Taru being in there.” She beamed. “Is your sister older or younger? In college maybe?” perhaps she was being a little meddlesome, especially for a first meeting, but what could be done about? Nothing harmful could come of he little inquiries and wanting to know more about the person who would answer them was a given. Why hadn’t she ever seen him at the school before though?
“I do regular Alumni projects at Silver Springs, for little events and such, nothing major. But I’m surprised that I never saw you around,” shouldn’t she have noticed the addition of a new teacher? Or maybe she’d, in typical Sun-Hi form, ignored everything that wasn’t an immediate attraction or source of worry and overlooked him?
His correction of her pronunciation of his name followed and she abased herself minutely, shrinking backward from her unintentional tilt forward. “Sorry, Mihael.” The softly spoken apology held a dash of embarrassment whether from her blunder over an additional letter or the innocuous roll of the man’s callused pad over her leg she couldn’t say, both? She was failing miserably at keeping a straight face, accomplishing even less headway on keeping her face from the cherry red shade it had chosen to take whenever their eyes lingered too long on one another. She looked at men day in and day out! How could she suddenly not be absolutely sure of her footing with a guy she only knew through a freak bicycle accident that was turning out to be the greatest of all accidents in the existence to accidents.
Subconsciously Sun-Hi squirmed on the bench, Mihael was being a gentleman she told herself. Although a part of her was no longer positive how much more of his gentlemanly etiquette she could muster before she flat out asked him if he was married – she spied his ring finger for both hands and found them empty. Yay? A few mental shakes dispelled that unwarranted wave of delight. It also helped that the man, gently freezing the nerves in leg into submission, enjoyed staring at her to the point where her usually nonexistent self-consciousness’ received a long overdue jumpstart and it was making her antsy. He was going to kill her if he kept looking at her like that.
Her hyperawareness wasn’t so bad, “N-no wasted effort at all Mihael.” She responded, careful on how she spoke and repressing a shiver of glee at hearing her own from him. He had quite the voice! It wasn’t deep, as one might expect for a man of his stature, but it was pleasantly masculine and a enthralling tenor that beat against her ears in a comfortable lull. Now if this man could sing then there was no doubt he had a girlfriend stashed somewhere and her subtle attractions to him were for naught.
“I can’t say I know that song but I think I’ll be looking into it in the near future, if you ever let me up.” She smirked and fell quiet as he inspected her expertly treated wound before flashing him a challenging smile in regard to his following question. “I’m a big girl, I think I can tie my own bandages. But since you are down there…” never finishing the sentence as she was more then happy to keep him sitting in front of her until the gym instructors told them to move out. "You must get this a lot but you are quiet the gentleman, thank you."

The sudden bombardment of questions about Vivian made him smile. So it wasn't just little sis who was desperate for contact with people who were amicus as well; everyone seemed to enjoy finding their own kind. Mihael thought it was sweet. "She twenty, a bit younger than me. Vi finished school, she's a journalist right now, and a photographer," the man said, her voice low but not hitting very low notes; all in all, Mihael was a balanced man, physically and mentally. His white teeth flashed the beauty in front of him a smile, tips of his fingers lingering on her legs, around her ankle, careful to avoid the marks that the bike had left on her. Her surprise at his lack of appearance made him smile. "Oh, that explains it, I don't really take part in those sort of things, since I'm there five days out of seven." His light brown eyes were glimmering with amusement and interest, wanting and desiring to know more about Sun. She was adorable in the way she talked, and her sudden apology threw him off. Her sincere apology and the way Sun Sun withdrew from him made his heart go out to her- wasn't he the one who was supposed to feel offended? Now he didn't want to apologize to her again, but Mihael wasn't above comforting the woman. "Oh, don't be like that, it's quite alright. I get that a lot, so.. It's not big deal. Don't look so embarrassed... although that blush does look good on you." And there it was, the ability to turn this into a conversation of flirts and secret smiles, heated glances and whispered promises. Mihael wasn't above seducing someone, but by god, he hadn't seen a woman like her in a long, long time.
Absolutely breathtaking Sun was, like a doll that he just wanted to hold and stare at for ages. She was sweet, and her voice was beautiful, the perfect pitch, sliding across his ears like honey. everything about Sun was soft, very gentle, extremely feminine- which was, he now realized, what drew the man to her in the first place. Mm. Miheal didn't mind that. Like a moth to a light he was to Sun, enjoying every aspect about the beautiful woman he had the grace to meet. Despite her answer, the man wrapped up her leg, enjoying the extra little contact he had with Sun, smirking up at her, before it changed into a genuine smile. "Please. My fault, fixed it, will be good as new. You're welcome, and thank you, Sun," he responded, standing up for a few moments to stretch before taking up residence next to her on the best, his thigh brushing hers, just barely, which sent electricity shooting through him. Oh yes, she was very fine, as Vi would say, 'the cat's meow.' In fact, if he were a shifter, he would have been purring up a storm right now. He played that eye game with her, wondering how long the woman could stand before she looked away and began to blush once more. Though Mihael found that the color suited her cheeks wonderfully, he much rather preferred to be looking into the eyes of such a beauty. "Is there anything else I can do for you, Sun? Glass of water, a ride home?" he offered, wondering if she'd take him up on any of his offers. It wouldn't hurt to have her over for a little bit. Although the day was getting late, they were adults.. weren't they?
Miheal waited for her response, his eyes taking in her lovely feminine figure again. Although he did not longer on her chest, he took note of her lovely breasts, the way her legs seemed to go on forever, her lovely pink lips. There was a small inner glow that the woman seemed to have, radiating from deep within her. She was absolutely gorgeous. How could Mihael just leave her be, not be a gentlemen in her presence, and tend to whatever the woman needed?
